About Us

Dechinta is running two separate Rivers Semester Programs over July and August 2017 on the Deh Cho River and the Wind/Peel Rivers. Students will earn university course credits from the University of British Columbia while learning about the history of Indigenous resistance to colonization in Canada, developing land-based and water-based skills, gaining confidence and skills to go out on the land safely, and developing a deep understanding of the connection land and water have to self-determination and community well-being.
